CDARS
TCB offers customers access to a high yield network of CDs that provide full FDIC insurance for deposits up to $50 million.
The network is the Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service, or CDARS, and is comprised of over 1,500 community banks that share FDIC insured deposits. TCB distributes your deposit throughout the network in amounts under $100,000, so that every dollar, up to $50 million, is fully insured. You have the option to exclude certain banks within the network from your deposit.
Even though a number of banks hold your funds, interest is paid directly to your TCB account. You will then receive just one monthly statement from TCB that lists all your CDs, the issuing banks, the maturity terms, and the transaction dates.
